| We now support resumable downloads and Metalinks. We have also
implemented fair bandwidth tracking. Details after the jump.
Those of you with download managers will be pleased - you can now partially download a file, and resume it
later. Also, if you have a Metalink compatible downloader, you can enjoy super fast and reliable downloading,
especially with large files, provided you click the "Download Metalink" link on the download page.
Not only that, users with large files in their accounts might have been ticked off when someone downloads a large
file from them, and stops the download before it completes - only to find a full downloads' bandwidth has been removed
from their account! This has always been the way Host-A served files, until now. With "Fair Bandwidth Tracking", only
actual data transfer is counted as bandwidth. So if someone downloads 1 MB of a 25 MB file, only 1 MB of bandwidth
is removed from your account! This was achieved by having the mirrors keep track of the bandwidth used, with the
main server downloading and tabulating the logs every hour. So this means that download counters are updated and
bandwidth is removed from your account on an hourly basis (unless it is downloaded from the main server, which in that
case it updates instantly).
