Upload with Host-A, eh?: The Story of an Uploader
Flashback to early 2004. A program called Game Maker existed that let you make games with no programming knowledge, for free.
A community exsited where people would share their games they crafted.
In order for anybody to do this, they had to get their game online. This is where it all started.
When you wanted to get your game online, a free host would
be what most people used. Some were very slow, others were fast but had invasive ads and a limited amount of space. Ad free and
reliable hosts came and went
all the time. You'd think your file was safe on Host C? It may have what's called in the hosting industry "muchos space"
or "muchos bandwidth" but it disappears after a few months, along with all your files! Then another host comes along,
Host B. It does the same thing a month later! How can this perpetual problem be solved?
In May 2004, Host-A comes along. The final host. People doubted it's reliability, but
it kept chugging longer than those other fly-by-night hosts. The creator, camzmac,
spent a few hours every weekend working on it at the start of the year. By May, the first version was ready. Its
first user was themaker. It grew in popularity slowly, but it eventually caught on with users at the Game Maker
Community that this host wasn't going anywhere.
Currently, with its spiffy new interface and helpful features Host-A serves many downloads
a day across a number of dedicated servers. The new site was
tested by Omar, along with countless
other people that looked at it and gave some feedback during development. Whether you need reliable personal file
storage or public file hosting, the final host is here
to help you:
Host-A. Today and Everyday.
